Zerobased flower arrangement teaching, anyone can learn it!

In "The Wisdom of Flowers" it was described :

We see tremendous power in flowers. If they could give us even half of their energy to overcome pain, aging, and death, our situation would be completely different.

Around the third century BC, people in ancient Greece tried to transform wild five-petal roses into hundred-petal roses. It was really ambitious. By the second century AD, the port had developed a rose trade and the whole nation began to buy roses.

Nowadays, seeing the thousands of roses given away during various festivals, you may have become aesthetically fatigued and no longer think they are beautiful.

But in nature, there are no ugly flowers, at least before arranging them. The following is a beginner's guide to arranging flowers with your eyes closed. If you accidentally receive some flowers, you can follow it immediately!

Stage 1: Blind plug-in

Anyway, the flowers are beautiful. For flower arranging novices, they can arrange them beautifully even with their eyes closed. Since you have closed your eyes, you can arrange fewer flowers, because if you are not skilled enough, you will end up arranging flowers like an old man's emoticon.

1. Round bottle + 1 plump flower

The key point is to keep it simple, especially for flowers that are very meaningful in themselves. Just one of them will be beautiful.

In addition to the common rectangular glass vases, it is also practical to choose some round flower vases, which will enrich the overall fullness. Cut the flower branches short like this, leaving some leaves close to the flowers, and let the flowers close to the mouth of the vase.

One bottle is too simple, but if you put a few bottles together, they will form a shape, and it will look nice.

It doesn’t have to be round, the shape of the vase can vary, and the simpler the glass surface, the better:

2. Long strip flowerpot + branches stretch naturally

In addition to flowers, branches, leaves, fruits, and weeds are all acceptable. Because they are not as conspicuous as flowers, their shape is particularly important. If you insert them straight, a long strip of flower pot can allow the branches to stretch naturally:

You don't even need to put it in water, it will look good enough when placed directly on the dining table:

3. Short jar + oblique insertion

A sturdy and solid flower vase like the one in the picture below will look very lively if it is inserted diagonally. If the flower branches on it are stood up, it will become a barrel waist among flowers.

4. High-end vase + as few flowers as possible

If you have a fancy vase that steals the show, let it be the star. In fact, it means using a small amount of flowers or plants to create a visual focus, without any other things disturbing the line of sight. Leave the beauty to the flowers, close your eyes, and put it in the vase.

Stage 2: Open eyes and insert

I believe most of you are already at this stage, and are not satisfied with just one flower. Then open your eyes!

6. Ball flower arrangement

To make a spherical bouquet that can never go wrong, first ignore the flower material and color matching, and still use only one kind of flower. The flower vase can still be a clean glass container.

Here is the "Ball Flower Bag Tutorial":

1. You all have transparent wide-mouthed glass vases anyway.

2. Trim the branches short enough so that the flowers can fit close to the mouth of the vase.

3. Slowly spiral the flowers into a circle, allowing the flower stems to cross underwater.

4. If it is difficult to shape, you can tie it into a bouquet first and then put it in the bottle, or use tape to fix it at the mouth of the bottle. Then you can gradually enrich the shape and make some changes to make it an upgraded version of the ball flower. For example, add leaves and use a better-looking vase:

Or use more flowers or even branches:

If you upgrade it a little bit, you can add some contrast in color, size, and texture.

7. Fan-shaped flower arrangement

After all, I can now arrange flowers with my eyes open. It would be very interesting to observe the flowers carefully before arranging them.

Just like your face looks better in a photo from a certain angle, every flower has different temperaments from the front and side. Some flowers seem to be saying, "I am the most beautiful. Look at me, look at me!" Then you can put it in the center where it is most conspicuous.

Some flowers are very shy and lower their heads, so you can put it a little lower. Some flowers are very proud and turn their heads away and refuse to look at you, so you can put it aside and let it be quiet.

For example, the bunch of branches below is more like the skeleton of a fan. The branch in the middle is graceful and elegant, with flowers sticking out and echoing each other:

A sense of distance where they are not close to each other but can still talk to each other, or simply form a perfect fan:

The imperfect fan shape also has beauty, a little casual balance:

8. Horizontal flower arrangement:

The horizontal bouquets are also unique, lined up in a row:

There is still a need for dialogue between flowers:

The florets of horizontal flowers are usually shorter:

Otherwise your flower needs to be simple enough:

Stage 3: Unique Insert

In Japanese, "hanami" means "flower viewing". Flower viewing means you are seeing the flowers and yourself. So this "being unique" does not mean that you should make the flowers look rare and special, but when you face yourself, you should create a work that only you can accomplish in this world.

9. Use special materials to create a sense of season:

Cotton can also be inserted, it can't be more winter:

10. Flowers + food will be more beautiful

Flowers are also naturally suitable for being combined with various foods, or simply let food become flowers and flowers become food, anyway, all good things can be mixed together:

11. Use dried and withered flowers to create a zen-like feel

You can hang dried or withered flowers upside down and let them dry naturally.

Zen of dead branches:

The Wisdom of Flowers: It is difficult to determine whether we have invented a kind of beauty that is unique to humans, because our architecture, the purpose of creating music, and the colors and light are all borrowed directly from nature.

Beauty comes from nature, and flower arrangement will eventually return to nature. Sen no Rikyu stipulated in the tea ceremony that flowers should be arranged as if they grow in the mountains and fields. It is as if the flowers are growing there, blooming and falling, growing old, getting sick and dying.
