Unveiling the Secrets of Magic: The Truth Behind 8 Great Magic Tricks
Children naturally believe in miracles. As they grow up, they may lose their sense of magic.
However, adults sometimes begin to believe in magic after watching a magician's performance. Today, we'll take you behind the scenes of classic magic tricks.
1. Invisible car

The trick: People surround the car, holding hands. The car is covered with a large piece of cloth, which immediately starts to float up. Then you see that there's no car underneath the cloth.
Disclosure: The vehicles are usually hidden in a special section beneath the stage. Their shape is preserved thanks to a thin frame within the fabric. The moment the vehicle disappears is not visible because of the varied lighting surrounding it.
2. Passing through the human body

The trick: The magician's assistant is placed in a narrow box with a hole in the middle. This hole is covered by a curtain. The magician passes through the hole from the back of the box. From the surface, you can see the magician passing by the assistant's body.
Disclosure: The box only narrows when the person inside is completely upright. However, when the assistant changes position, the magician has enough room to crawl through the hole.
3. The fish is in the bottle.

The trick: The magician shows a bottle cap and water inside. Then he covers the bottle with a napkin, says something like "magic," and when the cap is removed, there's a fish inside the bottle.
Disclosure: There is a thin straight line at the top of the bottle. This arc is usually easy to remove. So the fish is on the arc, but we can't see it because of the cap. When the napkin is removed, the magician pulls out the arc, and the fish falls into the water.
4. Swallowing needles

The trick: This trick was created by Harry Houdini. The magician swallowed a thread and 50 needles, finishing them in front of the public. Then he produced a makeshift "chain" with 50 needles on it.
Revealed: The magician didn't swallow the needles; instead, he spat them into a glass of water. Thanks to the correct lighting effects, no one saw this. All this while the "chain" was already in the magician's mouth, coiled around a piece of brown cardboard. He simply covered the cardboard with his finger before showing you his "empty" mouth.
5. Magic Chair

The trick: The magician sits in a chair. Then his assistant moves the chair away, but the magician remains seated in mid-air.
Revealed: The magician sits on a platform with an invisible clasp. If a shoe is attached to this clasp, the leg is securely held in place and will not move. The chair is shaped like a frame, attached to the same leg.
6. Kidnapping and escape

The trick: The magician wears a tight-fitting suit with the sleeves tied behind his back. The entire scene is covered by a screen. After a few minutes, the magician is completely freed from his restraints. In some variations, they will also hang the magician down or blow him up.
Revealed: When the sleeves are fastened, the illusionist hugs his chest and takes a deep breath. After exhaling, there is some room to move within the bodysuit. Houdini once had to remove his shoulders to successfully perform this trick.
7. Use a bullet to catch another bullet.

Tip: The magician shot the bullet with a gun, but he was not hurt because he bit the bullet with his teeth.
Disclosure: These bullets were made of wax. They melted instantly at the moment of filming. Meanwhile, the magician had actually concealed a real bullet in his mouth beforehand.
8. Perforation

Trick: The magician lies on a sharp pole, and the public sees him being pierced.
Disclosure: The edge of the pole is movable, and it conceals itself when it reaches a special hole behind the magician. To mimic the piercing effect, the magician's stomach has another special mechanism with a pull-out edge. It simply pops out when necessary.
9. The "Turbulent" Lady

Trick: This is a variation of the famous "woman sawed in half" illusion. In the convoluted illusion, the magician divides an assistant into three parts, only allowing them to completely escape the illusion at the end of the performance, and without any harm.
Disclosure: This incredible trick used several 35cm-high boxes and a 20cm-high moving platform. As the female assistant entered the bottom box, she stood atop a hidden, spring-operated hatch. The hatch opened into an empty compartment inside the moving platform. As the illusionist closed all the box openings, the girl slid down from the hatch and sat cross-legged inside the platform's inner compartment. When the magician finally began to open the boxes, the audience saw a hybrid version of the assistant's torso. Of course, we're only talking about the mannequin portion inside the fake openings!
