Project Name: Playville Day Nursery, Thailand

For children, games are the best way to learn. At this age, they build their understanding of the world through physical exploration of the outside world.
The design concept of this "Playville" is to encourage children to move in different ways by utilizing the building's various topographic structures, helping them to fully explore their physical and cognitive abilities.
"Playville" has four areas, providing different building terrains and structures to encourage young children to walk, climb, jump and crawl, which is like an indoor playground. Of course, the safety of children is the most important thing. The designer replaced the hardwood floor with a low-impact floor to prevent children from getting injured due to their excitement.
Entrance tunnel
Children enter the "Mist Tree Tunnel" through the entrance hall. Here, the solid wood panels covering the floor and walls form an arch.
The "fog tree tunnel" is made of wooden panels that cover the lockers and nursing rooms. Gradient film on the glass walls of the space creates a foggy background.
Dune Oasis
On the other side of the glass is a covered outdoor area known as the "Dune Oasis," where children can play in the sandpit and jump on the trampoline.

Main Game Area
In the main play area, there is a white "swimming pool" filled with translucent balls made of custom foam blocks, where children can play in the water to their heart's content.

“Walking out of the main play area, there is the ‘corridor hall’, which is a wooden platform where children can climb or slide around. It also forms a secret hiding place underneath, like the ‘secret base’ we had when we were kids.
