Truly good designs all come from life. The reason why my family chose to build a row of low cabinets on the balcony was mainly because we saw the design of our neighbor's house. We decided to do so. It is really practical!

The neighbor's balcony has a 3-meter-long booth on the outside. If you don't have a super large balcony, you really can't understand such a design. Also, our booth is usually placed on the inside, while the neighbor's is placed on the outside. Aren't they afraid of rain and sun?

Having said that, there are still some things we can learn from the neighbor's approach.

1. It is better to have a booth on the balcony than a sofa

People can sit on both the sofa and the banquette. The only difference is that there is a cabinet under the banquette, which can be used as storage space. It is no exaggeration to say that if it is made like a 3-meter-long cabinet like your neighbor, the storage capacity may be more than that of a storage room.

If you want to build a booth on the balcony, it is recommended to seal the balcony and install curtains to avoid sun and rain. It is also best to choose sauna board or antiseptic wood to better ensure the life of the cabinet under the booth.

Some people say that they just like open balconies, so they can’t have booths. Actually, it’s OK. But the cushions on top can’t be fixed, so it’s a bit more troublesome to take them in and out for daily use.

2. Beautiful pipeline

Building a booth on the balcony can not only increase storage space, but also beautify the balcony. The air conditioner outdoor unit and pipes can be covered with a booth.

If you want to include it in the package, remember to set it to be switchable so as not to affect future maintenance.

Taking the heat dissipation of the external unit into consideration, some gaps should be left when making it. As for other places, there will be no problem if they follow the design of ordinary booths.

3. Some designs of balcony check-in booths

A booth alone may seem a bit monotonous, so you can make some appropriate expansions. For example, make a high and low table, and create a table on one side of the corner. You can move a stool over and use it as a bar. As for the height of the table, it should be at least 60cm or more to avoid looking crowded.

The cabinet below can be made into a cabinet for storage, which will make it more convenient to take things.

If the balcony space is large enough, you can also make some other decorations appropriately, such as placing a table, putting some green plants, installing air conditioners, etc.

It doesn’t matter if the space is small, one side can be made open, which makes it more convenient to use in a small area.
