Ten kinds of landscape trees to create the most beautiful garden landscape

In the golden month of September, the sweet osmanthus is fragrant. Now that September has arrived and the weather is getting cooler, it is time to wait for the sweet osmanthus to bloom.
The osmanthus tree is one of the ten traditional flowers, with elegant appearance, green branches and leaves, and is evergreen all year round. When the osmanthus flowers bloom, the fragrance is strong and far-reaching, and it is known as the "Nine-mile Fragrance".
In ancient times, two osmanthus trees were planted opposite each other in the courtyard, which was also called "double osmanthus in the courtyard" or "double osmanthus leaving fragrance". In mid-autumn, the osmanthus trees are in full bloom. When the moon is full in the quiet night, people enjoy the osmanthus with wine, and the fragrance is refreshing.
In addition, as an excellent garden tree species that combines greening, beautification and fragrance for both ornamental and practical purposes, planting osmanthus trees in courtyards not only has the meaning of beautification, but also carries the wish of "winning the laurel", creating the meaning of a traditional Chinese classical courtyard.
September is the time when crape myrtles are in full bloom.
On the streets of Hangzhou and in the middle of the roads, you can see crape myrtle flowers blooming everywhere in the midsummer sun.
Yang Wanli, a poet in the Song Dynasty, once wrote a poem about crape myrtle: "Who says flowers don't last forever? Crape myrtle blooms for half a year." The flowering period of crape myrtle is very long, spanning the turn of summer and autumn. Planting it in the courtyard, the branches sway and the flowers sway, which is very interesting.

Of course, in addition to these two seasonal tree species, there are eight other excellent landscape tree species that are rich in meaning, conducive to viewing and landscaping.

Loquat Tree......................
In "Xiang Ji Xuan Zhi", it is written that "there is a loquat tree in the yard, which was planted by my wife in the year of her death. Now it has grown tall and majestic like a canopy ." These few words express the endless longing, and the loquat also carries a strong emotional color.
Loquat is an evergreen tree native to the subtropical zone. It requires a relatively high temperature and can grow normally when the annual average temperature is above 12°C. It is a sun-loving, drought-tolerant tree with low soil requirements. It is often used for gardening and is planted in the courtyard, which is beautiful.

Pomegranate.........................
Pomegranate means having many children and good fortune. The pomegranate tree can reach 2-4 meters in height, with beautiful branches and leaves. The history of pomegranate cultivation can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. In traditional culture, it is regarded as a lucky charm and has a strong sense of wealth.
Every May and June, the flowers are in full bloom, as bright as clouds, as red as fire, and extremely bright. They are planted alone in the courtyard, in pairs at the entrance of the gate, in rows on the path, beside the stream, on the slope, on the building, etc., which can be said to be a combination of eating and viewing.

Camellia tree...................
Camellia is a traditional garden flower with a variety of crowns, emerald green leaves, lush branches and leaves, and evergreen all year round. Its flowering period is in late winter and early spring, with large and bright flowers, red petals covering the tree, shaped like a peony, very beautiful.
Camellias are shade-tolerant and grow best when planted at the edge of sparse woods in the Jiangnan region. Planting them next to rockery can create a small rock scene. Three or five plants scattered near pavilions are particularly elegant. If a camellia garden is opened, the flowers are as gorgeous as brocade. A few plants can be planted in a corner of the courtyard wall, which looks naturally elegant.

Magnolia tree...................................
Magnolia, also known as white magnolia, spring magnolia, and magnolia, belongs to the Magnoliaceae family and is one of the unique and precious garden flowers and trees.
Magnolia blooms in March and fruits ripen in June-July. The flowering period is only about 10 days. It grows best in warm and humid climates and fertile and loose soil. It likes light and is not drought-resistant. In early spring, the magnolia tree is covered with white flowers, which are gorgeous and fragrant.
In ancient times, magnolias were often planted in front of pavilions, terraces, towers, and pavilions. When in full bloom, the petals spread out in all directions, making the courtyard green and white, and the white light dazzling, which has a high ornamental value. In addition, the fragrance is refreshing, which is indeed an ideal flower for beautifying the courtyard.

Plum tree...................

As one of the top ten famous flowers, plum blossom has long been endowed by literati with the qualities of nobleness, strength and humility, and has become one of people's most favorite flowers for thousands of years.

The flowering period of plum trees is from December to March , which is the cold winter plum. It has strong adaptability to soil. The flowers have five petals, which represent nobleness, wealth and five blessings. Planting them in the courtyard can enhance the blessings of the home.

Red Maple Tree...................
"The stone path is slanting up the cold mountain, and there are houses where the white clouds are born. I stop the car and sit to enjoy the maple forest in the evening, the frosted leaves are redder than the flowers in February." The maple leaves are colorful, unique and beautiful in shape, which has a unique flavor.
Maple trees are tall trees that can reach a height of more than 29 meters and a crown width of up to 16 meters. As the tree ages, its crown gradually opens and becomes round. It likes a moist, warm climate and a cool environment. It is relatively shade-tolerant and cold-resistant, and avoids exposure to the sun.
The beauty of maple has always been a consensus among people. People plant a patch of maple trees in their courtyards, looking forward to the arrival of late autumn and the pleasant scenery.

Podocarpus...................
Podocarpus, also known as Podocarpus chinensis, golden pine, and cypress, is an evergreen tree that can be up to 18 meters tall. Due to its quaint shape and the unique combination of seeds and stalks, the artificially modified Podocarpus has a unique shape, a variety of manners, vigorous elegance, and grace.
Podocarpus prefers warm and humid climates, is weak in cold tolerance, and is strong in shade tolerance. Planted in the courtyard as an ornamental tree, it has a refined and upright charm, is ancient and vigorous, and has fresh green leaves all year round, giving a sense of vigor and nobleness. In addition, it fits the cultural meaning of "longevity" and "good fortune in wealth preservation". Planting one or two Podocarpus in the courtyard can create your own unique courtyard landscape.

Banyan Tree...................................
Banyan trees are large evergreen trees with umbrella-shaped or round crowns, up to 20-30 meters high, with a breast diameter of more than 2 meters, and aerial roots. Banyan leaves are lush and evergreen all year round, with strong branches and trunks. A banyan tree that grows for a long time can be lush and green, forming a forest.
Banyan trees are often used to beautify gardens in subtropical areas such as South China and Southwest China. They can be planted outdoors and used as solitary trees for viewing, creating a natural landscape of tropical rain forests for the garden environment. Banyan trees also have the meaning of "tolerance leads to greatness, and lack of desire leads to strength", so planting them in the courtyard also means self-encouragement.
