Should I use track rods or Roman rods for curtains? After reading this, I found that I installed it wrong at home!

I didn't expect that installing curtains requires so many details. Who says it's not true? You don't know until you decorate. There are too many things to pay attention to and unexpected things. I believe that Fei Mojun is not the only one who feels this way. Fortunately, we met each other in the vast sea of people and worked together to make decoration a simple and beautiful thing. (Haha, I was caught off guard by the sensationalism~)

Today we are going to talk about whether to use track rods or Roman rods for curtains. For those who have difficulty making choices, this may take a long time to consider. In fact, it is easier to make a choice if you understand their respective characteristics.

Roman rod

The Roman rod is an exposed rod that is installed outside. It is generally a cylindrical cross bar with a rod diameter of about four centimeters. There are gourd-shaped decorative shapes at both ends of the cross bar. It looks simple and elegant and also serves a decorative purpose.

Generally, two Roman rods are installed, one for hanging yarn and one for hanging cloth. When installing the Roman rods, the hole depth should be 4-4.5cm and should be kept away from water and electricity pipes.

Advantages: The Roman rod is easy to install and disassemble. Just plan the location on the wall in advance, drill a hole, and then fix it. It is also convenient to disassemble the curtains for cleaning.

Disadvantages: Cannot bend, has limited load-bearing capacity. If the curtains are made of heavier materials such as velvet, the rod may bend; it is a bit sluggish and stuck when pulled.

Track rod

The track rod is also known as the sliding rail. The sliding rail has a simple shape and is generally installed on the ceiling. The track will be covered by a curtain box, plaster line, or suspended ceiling. If it is directly exposed to the outside, it will affect the appearance.

Advantages: The price is relatively cheap, the shape can be changed and bent, and it can be installed if the windows in your home are round, corner or other special shapes; the curtains can be pulled smoothly.

Disadvantages: It is inconvenient to disassemble and clean the curtains. If you don’t install a curtain box or cover them with a suspended ceiling, they will be exposed and affect the appearance.

Which one is suitable for my home?

Good design and decoration should be in line with the owner's living needs and space structure. The curtains should be installed in the following ways:

Roman rod: If your home has a low ceiling, no suspended ceiling or only a simple suspended ceiling, and you want something that is easy to clean and install, choose it.

Track rod: If you want it to be relatively easy and smooth to use, and your home windows are of strange shapes, and you have done plaster lines, suspended ceilings and other processes, choose it.

In fact, in addition to using Roman rods and track rods, some young people nowadays have begun to use these methods to bid farewell to traditional curtains and create a different home atmosphere.

Venetian blinds: Suitable for living rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and other spaces, versatile, fresh and high-end.

Vertical blinds: Slender vertical stripes make you look whiter and taller, pure and beautiful.

Honeycomb curtains: heat insulation and light blocking, suitable for those who like a pitch-dark room.

Roman blinds and roller blinds: lace shape, rich printed patterns, and a variety of styles to meet all your needs.
