Regarding flower arrangement, how can we extend the flowering period of flower arrangement so that it can accompany us longer?

How to extend the flowering period of flowers?

There are such flower preservatives in our current market, which can help us effectively extend the life of fresh cut flowers. But if you don’t have such preservatives at home, you can add a little white sugar and one or two drops of 84 disinfectant to mix, and the shelf life can be extended to about one week or ten days.

If you want to extend the flowering period, you must let the flowers drink as much water as possible. However, if the water tank is too full, it may give people a very depressing feeling, but if there is too little water, the flowers will not absorb enough water. Therefore, when adding water, it is most appropriate to add the water to two-thirds.

If you want to keep flowers fresh, then we'd better not use purified water, but tap water and let it dry for half a day. It is said that it will be better if it settles for a while before use. At the same time, we can add an appropriate amount of preservative according to the instructions, or add a small spoonful of sugar and one or two drops of 84 disinfectant. Both of these can increase nutrition and have antibacterial effects. After these operations, change the water every other day, which can effectively extend our flowering period.

I will share with you two more methods to extend the flowering period;

1. Pruning method. We can use scissors to trim the ends of the flower arrangement every one or two days, so that the cross section of the flower branch can always remain fresh, and the water absorption ability of the flower branch can be maintained in a good state, thereby extending the life of the flower arrangement.

2. Burning branches. We can burn the ends of the branches used for flower arrangement with fire, and then immerse the 2 to 3 cm end of the branches in cold water immediately after the color changes, and then insert them into the vase. This method can not only disinfect the fresh wounds of the flowers, but also enhance the water absorption function of the flowers. However, this method of burning branches is more suitable for flowers with hard stems, such as plum blossoms, peach blossoms, roses, hibiscus, white jasmine, etc.

The editor has shared these methods to prolong the flowering period. Friends who are interested can try them at home. Doing it yourself will leave a deeper impression.
