Rainy season is coming! Here are some excellent rain garden examples

A field of tobacco, a city full of storms, rain when the plums are yellow... It's early summer again, and many friends are about to live a life of random "sunny, rainy, moderate rain, heavy rain , thunderstorms ".

In fact, rainy days can also be unique and romantic. Today, I would like to recommend several excellent rain garden cases. There are three types of rain gardens: rooftop rain gardens, public space rain gardens, and community rain gardens. If you like them, please save them!

Rooftop Rain Garden

Large flood-resistant rainwater park in Bangkok, Thailand

Chulalongkorn Century Park covers an area of 11 acres, and the green space can hold up to one million gallons of rainwater to address flooding issues in surrounding communities.

Water space landscape created by collecting rainwater

Benthemplein Water Plaza is the world's first public water space created by collecting rainwater. Located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, it not only provides an outdoor sports venue for the public, but also a theater for local residents and tourists, bringing a touch of greenery to the originally densely populated Rotterdam.

Public space rain garden

Igualada Central Park

This public space connects the urban area with the natural environment around the river. By centralizing interventions at main nodes, following sustainable principles and establishing a management system, a featureless space was transformed into a new multifunctional park at the service of citizens.

Rain Gardens on the Beltway

The project organizes the gardens around a large open space in the center, with an open lawn in the center, and a vegetable garden located on an axis that connects the boulevard to the landscape, in addition to a large underground water tank, a pond in the center that also collects rainwater.

Community Rain Gardens

Applebees Rain Garden

Adhering to the rainwater design concept of "source control and delayed shock load", the Applebes R&D team strives to build a rainwater storage device that is adapted to natural geographical conditions to achieve rainwater resource management. At the same time, landscape treatment methods are used to make plants and materials the protagonists of the garden, so that rainwater facilities can regain vitality.

Bridget Joyce Square

The project developed a landscape for stormwater management through sustainable drainage (SuDS), and a new urban park was conceptualized to fully integrate SuDS into the space as a whole, meeting the needs of the community's diverse activities, including large-scale events, small-scale community activities and intimate social interactions.

That’s all for today. Friends who know more excellent cases are welcome to add to it.
