Recently, a friend asked me, saying that he sees others practicing street workout and wants to try it too, but doesn't know where to start.
Personally, I also stumbled and struggled my way up from push-ups to street workout.
A brief introduction is given below.

Beginner Bodyweight Fitness

I've always had a habit of working out, but like most people, I don't have a plan or know what to train. I just do pull-ups and push-ups.
I once saw the Convict Conditioning series in the library, flipped through a few pages, and thought it was pretty good.
When I got home, I downloaded the book online and started practicing according to the instructions.
This set of books gave me a basic understanding of bodyweight training. The most direct help was knowing which exercises to practice and how to unlock more difficult exercises through step-by-step progressive training.
This book series is currently very popular, but it's also quite controversial. However, that's okay. For me, we just need to extract the essence of it.
"Convict Conditioning" was undoubtedly my introductory book to bodyweight training.
Street workout for beginners

Three years passed like this. At the end of 2017, I saw some experts doing Russian push-ups online. At the time, I didn't know that this move was called Russian push-up. I just thought that this kind of push-up with both feet off the ground was cool.
Then I saw the Russian-made support frame they were using, so I went online to look for one and wanted to buy one.

I later found it on Taobao. The shop owner said he knew how to do this move, so I asked him for advice. Later, he added me to a group for street workout enthusiasts to exchange ideas.
Then I started to learn a lot about street workout moves on the group and gradually joined many learning and exchange groups.
From that time on, I learned about the five divine skills and made a plan to master these cool moves.
Sharing is worse than enjoying alone – Fitness Sharing

Through self-study and expert guidance, I made considerable progress in bodyweight training during that period.
Personally, because I work during the week, I only do bodyweight training after get off work and on weekends.
I plan to learn the required moves in about two years. I especially need to remind myself not to force myself to break through a particular move and cause unnecessary injuries.
Later, I created the Toutiao account "The Road to Fitness" to share my fitness experiences and some fitness tutorials. My goal was to encourage more and more people to join the fitness movement. For me personally, it was also a process of learning, summarizing, and reviewing my experiences.
Advice for beginners

Spend some time reading books on fitness to make your fitness routine more professional.
Joining fitness discussion groups can sometimes provide guidance from experts, making your training twice as effective.
Third, understand the ultimate goal of fitness; health is the prerequisite, and then unlock amazing skills.
