Today, I want to introduce to you beautiful bulbous plants. If you are a bulb lover, don’t miss it!
Bulbous plants are a type of ornamental plants with underground storage organs. They have very unique ornamental characteristics and are divided into five categories according to the morphology and function of the underground storage organs: bulbs, corms, rhizomes, tubers, and tuberous roots. They are usually highly adaptable and have beautiful and fragrant flowers. They are important fresh cut flowers and potted ornamental flowers.
Amaryllis
Amaryllis is a popular flower on the Internet. It has large flowers, bright colors, and many varieties. One flower stalk can bloom a circle of flowers with itself as the center, which is very beautiful for flower growers. It is very beautiful as a cut flower or indoor potted plant.
Its bulbs are also typically large, round, and exposed, and are the kind of flowers that need to be exposed! It likes warm and humid climates, is not resistant to heat, cold, or waterlogging, and has a suitable growth temperature of 18-25°C. If it is below 5°C, anti-freeze measures must be taken.

hyacinth
Hyacinthus is a perennial herbaceous bulbous plant with a spherical or oblate bulb. It is said to be the most fragrant flowering plant discovered so far . It is mainly divided into two categories: "Dutch species" and "Roman species". The former is more authentic, usually only producing one flower stalk, with a sturdy body and larger flowers; the latter is mostly a variant variety, each plant can produce two or three flower stalks, with a weak body and thinner flowers.
Hyacinth prefers a cool and slightly dry environment with plenty of sunlight or semi-shade. It is cold-resistant and can be grown in soil or water.

Grape Hyacinth
Grape hyacinth is a perennial herb, a small flower bulb plant. It is slightly similar to hyacinth, but I think the two are easy to distinguish. Grape hyacinth plant shape is similar to hyacinth, the corolla is bell-shaped and densely clustered (looks like grapes from a distance), the flower color is more common in blue-purple, and the top edge of the flower is white.
Grape hyacinth has strong adaptability and prefers warm and cool climates. It likes light and is also shade-tolerant (suitable growing temperature is 15℃ to 30℃). It is cold-resistant but not cold-tolerant.

Saffron
Crocus, also known as saffron, is a perennial herb with an oblate bulb. It is famous for its medicinal value, but its beauty should not be underestimated. The color of saffron is light blue, reddish purple or white, with a fragrance, short flower stems, and the flowers open during the day and close at night. It likes cool, humid and semi-shady environments and is relatively cold-resistant.

Rain orchid
There are many varieties of Zephyranthes. Generally , many similar-looking bulbous plants in the Amaryllis family are collectively referred to as Zephyranthes . They all have one thing in common: they suddenly bloom after a heavy rain. Generally, such plants exist on a large scale, so it is not difficult to imagine the shock when they bloom. If you have a small courtyard at home, you can use it as a ground cover flower. It is not only tenacious but also evergreen all year round.

Narcissus
Narcissus, also known as narcissus, is one of the top ten famous flowers. It is a perennial herbaceous flower with an ovoid bulb. Narcissus flowers are divided into single petals and double petals: single petals are more classic and common , with a pure white color, a golden corona in the middle, and a more fragrant fragrance; the crown of double-petal narcissus is light yellow at the bottom and pale white at the top, without an obvious corona, and is called "hundred-leaf narcissus" or " Yu Linglong ". The flower shape is not as beautiful as the single-petal one, and the fragrance is not as fragrant as the single-petal one.
Narcissus likes light, water and fertilizer, has strong vitality, can tolerate semi-shade, and is not cold-resistant. The sap of narcissus bulbs is poisonous, so be careful when planting.

Single daffodil

Double narcissus
Daffodil
Narcissus, also known as yellow daffodil, is also a perennial herb with an ovoid bulb. The difference between it and 5 is that the flowers are larger and more colorful (the petals are light yellow with irregular serrated wrinkles on the edges), but the fragrance is not as strong as daffodils.
Daffodils prefer a growing environment that is humid in winter and dry and hot in summer, and are not sensitive to light (except for the leaf growth period, which requires sufficient sunlight, semi-shade is better during the flowering period).

Both the plant and the flower are very similar to the green onion in our life, and even have the smell of green onion, but its beauty is indeed unmatched by green onion. The inflorescence is as big as a head, and the flower color is bright purple-red. It is recommended to plant multiple flowers together for better viewing effect. It likes a cool and sunny environment (suitable temperature 15-25℃), avoids humidity, heat, rain, and waterlogging.

It is not picky about soil, but grows better in moist and well-drained soil.

Anemone
It is a perennial herb with rhizomes. We call it "wild cotton" and it is often seen in the mountains and fields because after its flowers fade, something like cotton wool will grow. Some information shows that it is also called big fire grass. As for why it got this name, I don't know much, but I still have a deep impression of it. Maybe it was its beauty that made me vaguely love flowers in my childhood.
