Online shopping reminder: When buying fresh cut flowers, you need to "awake the flowers"; when buying potted plants, you need to "awake the seedlings". Newbies should keep this in mind

Nowadays, the Internet is well developed. When we buy flowers and green plants, most of them are purchased online. The prices online are cheap and the varieties are complete. As long as we operate them properly at home, they can be well taken care of. When we buy fresh cut flowers and potted plants, we will hear the words "awakening flowers" and "awakening seedlings". So what is the difference between them? Many people do not operate them properly, which leads to problems when we buy flowers and it is difficult to take care of them. Today I will tell you in detail.

1. Wake up the flowers

The so-called awakening of flowers is to replenish water for the flowers we bought, and to allow their branches and leaves to recover, so that a cycle is formed in their bodies, so that they can absorb water normally and ensure that the flowers can bloom normally. Generally, when we buy fresh cut flowers, they are transported on the road, and the branches will absorb water, so we need to wake the flowers at this time.

How to wake up the flowers? Just remove most of the leaves at the bottom of the flowers we bought, and only keep the leaves above the mouth of the vase. Cut off 10 to 20 centimeters of the branches at the bottom, so that its wound is fresh and can absorb water normally.

Then put the purchased flowers into a large container, let the water cover the flowers and soak them for 10 to 20 minutes. In this way, the pores on its branches and leaves can open and absorb water, and it will regain its strength and vigor, and the leaves will not wilt. Then we insert it into the hydroponic container, add water, and it will be able to absorb water normally. The fresh cut flowers you bought will be able to bloom normally and can be enjoyed for a long time.

Because there are pores on the leaves and branches of plants, and the branches of plants, like humans, have blood vessel-like transport pipes. They absorb water and slowly supply it to the top to bloom. Therefore, after buying them, you usually need to immerse them in deep water to wake the flowers, soak them in clean water, and let them recover quickly, so that you can appreciate the beauty of their flowering.

2. Wake up the seedlings

What is reviving the seedlings? Reviving the seedlings means letting the flowers grow slowly after they are bought. Because the potted plants we buy are transported over long distances, their soil will be loose. When the soil is loose, there will be some gaps at the bottom of the roots. If you put them there to revive the seedlings after you buy them, their roots will dry up and the whole plant will wilt.

The correct way to wake up the seedlings is to check the soil first after buying the plants. If it is very loose, or if the soil is not very loose, or if the soil is dry, we must water it thoroughly from top to bottom. Be sure to water it thoroughly. Turn the flowerpot to water it. Water it several times. Only when it is thoroughly watered can we ensure that the soil and the root system are fully combined together. Because watering makes the soil and roots fit tightly together. After watering, the soil will sink, and the entire flowerpot will be fuller, which can play a role in rooting. This is also called the first rooting water, which is the same as when we change pots.

After watering, if you want to change the pot, you cannot do so. What we need to do is add some rooting liquid to the water and put it in a well-ventilated place. It must be ventilated and not closed and stuffy, otherwise its roots will easily rot. Ensure ventilation and some scattered light, and let the seedlings acclimate for three to five days. The purpose of acclimatization is that the plant itself is grown in the original greenhouse environment, and it is not adapted to your home. We leave it here without changing the pot or disturbing the soil, so that it can adapt to the environment in your home.

After three to five days, if the leaves are vigorous, no longer yellowing or falling, and no longer rotting, we can change the pots. If we do not change the pots, we can gradually increase the light, make sure the soil in the pot is one or two centimeters dry, water it thoroughly, and ensure ventilation, and it will be able to grow normally. After changing the pots, we also need three to five days of seedling acclimatization time, and then gradually increase the light, so that the potted plants we bought can recover quickly and grow normally in our home.

Many flower lovers buy seedlings and directly put them in new pots, or just leave them there without watering them. They often fail to grow well. Some flower lovers even see that the soil is wet after buying seedlings, and are afraid of root rot if they water them, so they just spray them with water. The seedlings will become more and more wilted, and finally the whole plant will dry up and die. This is because you have not done a good job of waking up the seedlings.

Nowadays, every household is raising flowers. It is OK to raise one or two plants, because flowers and plants can purify the air and decorate the space when placed indoors. Moreover, most people live in high-rise buildings and spend their free time indoors. Few people go out for a stroll, so it is very good to raise a few pots of flowers and water them for viewing. If you also like to raise flowers, whether you buy fresh cut flowers or potted seedlings, remember the steps of waking up the flowers and seedlings, so that the flowers we buy can survive and grow well in our hands.
