World characteristics

California is a huge immigrant city where you can find food streets from all over the world, from Little Tokyo to Little Hong Kong, from Little Ethiopia to Little Bangkok. If you can imagine it, you can eat it.

Little Tokyo

Little Tokyo is a Japanese food street located in Downtown Los Angeles. Here you can find authentic and affordable sushi, skewers, ramen, curry, and more. Since there are so many restaurants, and all are of excellent quality, we won't specifically recommend any one here. You can explore the area and choose for yourself, if you're feeling adventurous.

Authentic Mexican food

California has a large Mexican immigrant population due to its proximity to Mexico. Mexicans, like the Chinese, possess the admirable qualities of hard work and perseverance. In Los Angeles, they not only take on all the arduous and physically demanding jobs that Americans are unwilling to do, but also provide the most authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. Here are some of the most famous Mexican food trucks and restaurants.

Every cuisine imaginable is available; close your eyes and just imagine what you want to eat, and you're sure to find a meal that will satisfy your cravings.

Yunnan Crossing Bridge Park

Authentic Sichuan cuisine, especially the cold dishes. Other main dishes are also good, but there aren't many snacks. The Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles are incredibly delicious and a must-order. The downside is that the portions are huge; two people can't order too many dishes.

Managed by the last disciple of Ah Er Abalone, the food is comparable to Lei Yue Mun, and its dim sum is even more refined and the tea-drinking environment is superior, yet the prices are about one-third cheaper. It's a must-visit for Hong Kong and Taiwanese celebrities when they come to Los Angeles. Their xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are the best in Los Angeles, and their custard buns are particularly special—crispy and fragrant bread that bursts with a delicate salted egg custard filling with every bite—absolutely amazing!
