Listen to me! Follow these 8 tips when buying a sofa, and you will definitely not fail!

Recently, several friends asked me how to buy sofas and why they look so cozy and high-end when matched with the living room. I told them to listen to me and buy according to these 8 tips. I guarantee that they will not fail. This is not a scam but my actual experience of changing three sets of sofas!

1. Choose dark sofas for cool tones and light sofas for warm tones
The color of the sofa should match our hard decoration style, otherwise if your hard decoration is cream style and is matched with a large black sofa, it will look very abrupt.
Cool colors look more mature and restrained, and look more upscale when paired with dark-colored sofas , which are also more resistant to dirt. For creamy and minimalist styles, choose light-colored sofas, which are more beautiful and warmer to match .

2. Choose the split type instead of the "3+2+1" combination type
The "3+2+1" combination sofa is large, but it takes up a lot of space. If the living room width is not more than 3 meters, it is not recommended to buy it, otherwise the living room will appear very crowded.
For small rooms, it is recommended to buy a split-type sofa. First, it takes up less space, makes the space look more open, and can be matched with a lazy chair, which is more flexible. Second, it is easier to carry and cheaper, which can save a lot of money .

3. Don’t choose a sofa leg that is too low. It is best to leave 20cm of space.
Sofa legs should either be left untouched or kept at a height of no less than 20cm. Sofa legs that are too low are difficult to clean up and can easily hide dirt. It is very troublesome to lift the sofa every time you clean.
Leave 20 cm of space under the sofa legs to make it easier for the broom to get in when cleaning . If you have a sweeping robot, you don’t have to worry about the sofa legs being too low and the sweeping robot not being able to get in, so it is more practical to buy sofa legs with high feet.

4. Choose frame + spring support instead of bandage support
The sofa supported by bandages is soft and has good elasticity, but it is fine for short-term use. If used for a long time, the bandages will easily age and the supporting properties will decrease, making it easy for the bandages to break and collapse.
The sofa with wooden frame + spring support is more stable and bears more weight . As long as you don't dance on it often, such a sofa can be used for ten or eight years, and the outer leather will be worn out, and there will be no problem with the frame. Of course, the price is still a little bit higher~

5. Choose 45D sponge instead of 30D sponge
If you want the sofa to not collapse when you sit on it for a long time, choosing the right filling is the key.
When choosing filling materials, it is best to choose 45D sponge with higher density. Sofas filled with this kind of sponge are soft and elastic, and the sponge will rebound immediately after people leave . However, 30D sponge is too low in density, easy to collapse, and rebounds slowly, and you can often see a pit mark on it.

6. Choose latex filling instead of full doll cotton
It is better to choose latex filling or down filling with good resilience as the support material under the cotton , which can also better prevent the sofa from collapsing and rebound better.
The cotton pads are quite soft. For someone like me who likes to sit in the same position all the time, it won't take long for it to fall off.

7. Choose a fabric back cover instead of a non-woven back cover
The non-woven fabric backing will tear if you poke it. Even if you don't poke it, it will weather away and drop a bunch of residue in a short time, which looks dirty, messy and ugly.
The sofa with fabric backing is more corrosion-resistant and has a longer lifespan. You don't have to worry about cockroaches hiding underneath when using it.

8. It is recommended to choose cotton and linen for the outer layer, not low-priced technical fabrics
Leather sofas are not very good-looking, and they fade easily and are difficult to maintain. Therefore, I don’t like leather sofas very much. When friends ask me what sofa to buy, I always recommend them to buy fabric sofas, which are good-looking, cheap and durable, and I won’t feel bad if they break .
However, you can't buy just any fabric sofa. It's best to choose a sofa made of cotton, linen or velvet. Don't choose cheap technical fabrics, which are not only easy to turn yellow and scratch but also difficult to maintain.

The above tips for sofa purchase are proven and effective. Friends who are busy buying sofas recently can refer to them. Well, today's sofa purchase sharing ends here~
