【Iron bed】Maintenance and cleaning of iron bed

  Maintenance of wrought iron beds

  1. Avoid scratches: Place the furniture in a place where it is not often touched by other hard objects, try to avoid damage from external forces, and do not hit it with hard objects, as this will cause the paint layer to peel and the chrome layer to fall off.

  2. Waterproof and moisture-proof to reduce sun exposure: If it is the rainy season, the water droplets on the surface of the metal furniture should be wiped dry in time after the rain stops.

It is best not to place a humidifier or hang wet clothes around wrought iron furniture. At the same time, avoid direct sunlight from the window to the wrought iron furniture indoors to prevent the metal from oxidizing and deteriorating or the surface paint from fading and cracking. Dark curtains or blackout blinds can be used to block the direct strong light.

  3. Refuse to use acid and alkali to remove rust: Try to avoid splashing acid and alkali solutions that are corrosive to iron (such as sulfuric acid, vinegar, alkali, soapy water, soda water, etc.). If accidentally stained, clean the stain immediately and wipe it with a dry cotton cloth.

  Cleaning of wrought iron beds

  1. Wipe with a soft cloth: Iron furniture should be cleaned of dust on the surface regularly. It is best to use a pure cotton cloth, dip it in a mild detergent, and wipe it gently. For dust in the depressions, use a soft wool brush to brush it along the gaps.

  2. Apply anti-rust oil: You can regularly use cotton cloth dipped in a small amount of anti-rust oil or sewing machine oil to wipe the surface to keep the iron furniture bright as new.

  3. Use cotton yarn dipped in engine oil to remove rust stains: If you find that the furniture has begun to have rust spots, you should apply cotton yarn dipped in engine oil to the rusted areas as soon as possible. This can remove the rust stains. Do not use sandpaper or other rough surfaces directly.
