woojai lee is a korean new zealand artist who explores recycled paper, one of the most produced and discarded materials in the world, in a more durable form.

Although it can be recycled, the process is unclear as its quality deteriorates each time it is recycled, so the designer decided to expand its practicality through this design concept called "paperbricks".

woojai lee's collection of works are handcrafted from recycled newspapers that are first turned into pulp, then mixed with glue and finally molded into the shape of bricks. the work resembles a marble surface, with a delicate surface like paper. however, its structure is as hard as a stone brick.
