For RVs, although the space is huge, I don’t know if it is because of the lack of ambition of RV manufacturers or the reasons of the RV market, the layout is always so monotonous, with bunk beds, double benches, refrigerators, computers, washing machines, microwave ovens, induction cookers, etc., and yes, there is also that huge bathroom.

To be honest, RVs are really good and fully equipped, it's like a miniature home!

But, traveling is traveling, not moving!

Therefore, there is no need to move your daily life at home into your car exactly as it is.

In order to meet the simple daily life, it is not enough to bring nothing, so you have to bring something selectively.

So, here comes the point!

What functions do you want in a bed truck? Let’s talk about the bed in the bed truck first .

1. It must be a fixed bed, that is, a bed that you can lie down and rest at any time

This is a necessary hardcore requirement and no rebuttal will be accepted!

The tragic experiences of countless trips have proved one thing: a bed truck without a fixed bed must be a fake bed truck!

Imagine that after a day of traveling and playing, when you drag your tired body back to the car, what do you most want to do?

Sit down or lie down!

Straighten your legs and lift them up. You will feel the relaxation at that moment, as if you can feel the hot blood rushing to the soles of your feet. The sourness at that moment is indescribable!

Imagine that you are exhausted and you get back to the car. You don’t even have time to catch your breath. You have to move your luggage and other things, lay down the seats, reinforce them, make the bed, and then curl up your body and take off your shoes and clothes with difficulty. . . .

But this height must allow you to stand straight when sitting on the bed, without bowing or groveling... After all, if you are too short, it will be inconvenient to do anything!

3. The width of the bed

It doesn’t matter whether you choose a longitudinal or transverse bed, what matters is the width of the bed.

No matter how small the bed is, it should be about the same width as a train berth, right? That is the most economical and space-saving design based on ergonomics.

4. The bed must be a hard bed

Those who like hard beds can just sleep on them, and those who like soft beds can add thicker mattresses, but the bed board must be very flat so that you can sleep comfortably.

In fact, this is also the reason why I don’t recommend laying the seat flat and sleeping directly.

The uneven bed makes me feel sore all over when I wake up.

5. It is best to stand upright when you are at the bedside.

Most cars cannot do this, except for some models of light commercial vehicles.

Bed car, bed car, the bed is the most important thing in the bed car! The bed must be comfortable and convenient, so that the trip will be more relaxing!

If you want to sleep comfortably, three-box, two-box, SUV, MPV, etc. are a bit small, at least you can't stand up straight in the car, so the most suitable car for a bed is a light commercial vehicle, such as GAC V80, Iveco, Transit, Yufeng, etc.

I chose a short-axle, mid-roof Maxus V80. After removing the roof trim and redoing it, people can basically stand upright in the car, and the car is wide enough to make a horizontal fixed bed.
