1. Use soft cotton cloth for dust removal regularly.
Regularly wipe the dust off the furniture surface with a soft cotton cloth, following the grain of the wood. Before dusting, dampen the cloth with a little detergent; do not use a dry cloth, as it will damage the surface of the wood furniture.
Every now and then, use a damp cotton cloth (wrung out) to carefully wipe away the dust accumulated in the nooks and crannies of the wooden furniture, then wipe the entire wooden furniture clean, and finally wipe it dry with a clean, soft cotton cloth.

2. Polishing and waxing should not be stopped.
Polishing and waxing wooden furniture is an ongoing process. Apply a small amount of polishing oil to a cloth for a quick shine, but regular dusting is necessary afterwards. Oil attracts dust, and the combination of dust and oil makes the furniture difficult to clean and prone to scratches.
Liquid waxes are somewhat better than polishing oils because they create a protective layer on the wood surface, allowing dust to slide off rather than stick, but their protective effect doesn't last as long as sand wax. Sand wax only needs to be applied in a thin layer to keep furniture shiny for a long time.

3. Treatment of scratches and watermarks
For accidental scratches on veneer and solid wood furniture, a crayon is all you need. Buy a crayon in a color similar to your furniture, apply it a few times to the scratch to make sure it's completely covered, and then apply another layer of wax.

Water droplets accidentally spilled on wooden furniture will leave watermarks if not wiped away, which usually take some time to disappear. If it's still visible after a month, rub the watermark along the grain of the wood with a clean, soft cloth lightly coated with salad oil or mayonnaise. Alternatively, you can cover the watermark with a damp cloth and then...

Gently press the damp cloth several times to fade the stain.
