Gardening starts with homemade gardening tools

I've been gardening for almost a year now, so here's a rundown of the essential and non-essential gardening tools I've been using.

Shovel Cup

This soil cup is great for repotting plants. It's made from a soda bottle split in half. I often use the lid for mixing soil.

Production method: First, find a drink bottle, then mark the shape with a marker, cut a hole with a knife, and then cut along the line with scissors to get two tools for shoveling soil.

Compost bin

I made these compost buckets and bins myself. I think composting is very important in gardening. When we repot plants, it is best to use it to compost the soil. This will reshape the soil so that it can be used as a good soil for planting.

To make it, use a beverage or medicine bottle and cut a round hole at the bottom of the compost bin. Then, use hot melt glue to glue the two together. It's important to test the drainage afterward to prevent leaks. Elevate the bottom with old tiles and then a rice bag to separate the wet and dry areas.

Flower stand

I made several flower stands like this, some taller and some shorter. The main method is to cut the wood and then use a hand drill to nail it. For details, please read my article "Can Girls Do Carpentry?"

Flower shelf

A flower shed is essential for plants that need shade in the summer or shelter from the rain. I designed this shed myself. Although it's quite small, it's very practical. The construction instructions are self-explanatory, so I won't elaborate further; those who understand will understand.

I also have other flower pots, repurposed from oil drums, shower gel bottles, glass bottles, bowls, and so on. Most of my gardening tools are made from everyday objects; I didn't buy any extras. Once you learn to transform your gardening life from the things around you, you've truly entered the realm of gardening. If you can buy all your tools online, why not buy your fruits, vegetables, and flowers online?

From making my own gardening tools, I began to understand life, everything, and gardening. I hope I can continue thinking in this way on this path of gardening.
