1. Develop a habit of exercising

2. Start exercising slowly.

Just as you can't get fat overnight, you can't lose weight with just one workout. Starting by climbing 23 flights of stairs or running around a track for an hour will definitely discourage you, and feelings of frustration, aches, and pains will easily drag you back to your old ways. Most people will develop their own exercise habits during college, and have at least one sport they particularly enjoy. If you want to try a new sport, stick with it for at least three weeks. If you still don't like it after three weeks, then give it up. Then look for other forms of exercise until you find one you enjoy.
