Common stain removal tips for guest rooms and public areas

1. Cleaning of hotel screen windows

The hotel's screens are covered with dust, which is the scope of the hotel's regular planned sanitation cleaning.

Here's a great way to clean window screens without removing them: Wet a piece of old newspaper with a rag and stick it to the back of the window screen. After five minutes, remove the newspaper from the screen. You'll find the damp newspaper is covered in dust and stains. This method saves time and effort. Try it!

2. Decontamination of hotel furniture

Tea stains on the coffee table:

If you often make tea on the coffee table, it will leave unsightly stains over time. You can sprinkle some water on the table, wipe it with tin foil from a cigarette box, and then scrub it with water to remove the tea stains.

Stains on furniture:

If painted furniture is dusty, you can use gauze to wrap a tea bag or a dry cloth dipped in cold tea to wipe it, which can preserve the original color of the furniture. Note: After wiping the furniture with tea, wipe it again with clean water to prevent the tea stains from affecting the original color of the furniture.

Stains on white furniture surfaces:

White furniture gets dirty easily, and it's difficult to wipe it off with a rag. Try squeezing toothpaste onto a clean rag and gently wiping it. Be careful not to use too much pressure to avoid damaging the paint.

Cracks in floors or wooden furniture:

You can cut up old newspapers, add an appropriate amount of alum, and cook it into a paste with clean water or rice soup. Use a knife to embed it into the cracks and smooth it out. After it dries, it will be very firm. Then apply paint of the same color and the furniture will be restored to its original appearance.

Burn marks on the surface of wooden furniture:

If you place a hot cup directly on furniture, it will often leave a circle of burn marks on the paint surface. You can use a rag dipped in alcohol, toilet water, iodine, or strong tea to gently wipe the burn marks. Alternatively, apply a layer of vaseline on the burn marks and wipe them with a rag every two days to remove the burn marks.

Alternatively, you can wipe it with a cloth dipped in lemon juice, and then wipe it again with hot water to restore the original bright color of the furniture.

Scorch marks on wooden furniture surfaces:

Fireworks, cigarette ashes, or unextinguished matches can sometimes leave scorch marks on furniture finishes. If only the finish is burned, you can wrap a toothpick in a piece of hard cloth and gently rub the burnt area. Then apply a layer of wax to remove the scorch mark.

Ink on furniture surface:

You can use white vinegar and hot water mixed in a 1:1 ratio to wipe. Acetic acid can effectively remove such stains. Of course, white vinegar can also be used for beauty. White vinegar mixed with glycerin and water has a whitening effect.

3. Cleaning of hotel switches, sockets and lampshades

If fingerprints are left on a light switch, simply wipe it with an eraser and it'll be as clean as new. If the socket is stained, unplug it first, then wipe it with a soft cloth and a little detergent powder. When cleaning wrinkled cloth lampshades, use a toothbrush with soft bristles to minimize damage. To clean acrylic lampshades, apply detergent, rinse with water, and then wipe dry. Ordinary light bulbs can be cleaned with salt water.

4. Cleaning stubborn stains on the toilet

Generally speaking, you can use a toilet brush dipped in detergent to remove stains, but this does not work for the circle-shaped dirt on the toilet that is difficult to brush off. You can stick toilet paper on the dirty area, sprinkle detergent on it, wet it for a while, and then brush it to easily remove the stains.

5. Descaling the basin

To remove the dirt on the edge of the hotel washbasin, you can use a small handful of messy hair dipped in toothpaste to rub it, which can quickly remove the dirt.

6. Remove mold and mildew from the corners around the guest room or the seams between the carpet and the wall

The corners around the guest room or the seams between the carpet and the wall are the most difficult to clean and are very prone to mold and mildew. Try using a recycled disposable toothbrush to clean them. If you encounter more stubborn dirt, use a toothbrush dipped in detergent to remove it, then wipe it clean with water and keep it dry.

7. Dirt left on the cup after brewing tea

The ceramic tea sets in the guest rooms that have been used for tea often have a layer of brown dirt that is difficult to clean. If you use a fine cloth dipped in a small amount of toothpaste and gently scrub it, it can be cleaned quickly without damaging the porcelain surface.

8. Metal faucets are always difficult to clean

Gently wipe the flesh side of the peeled potato and it will immediately be as shiny as new.

9. The stickers on the tableware cannot be removed cleanly

Use a hair dryer to blow on the sticker and it will be easy to tear off in a short while. If there is still some, just use a label to stick it on again.
