[Aphids] Methods for controlling aphids on potted flowers
Houseplants are often infested with aphids, especially chrysanthemums and hibiscus. Because houseplants are typically fewer in number, pesticide application is limited and preparation is inconvenient. Here are 10 simple control methods for your reference.
1. Yellow sticky trap method: Select a piece of cardboard or wooden board that is 20 cm long and 15 cm wide, stick yellow paper on it, and then coat the yellow paper with a layer of butter to make a trap. Place the trap between flower pots. Taking advantage of aphids' attraction to yellow, the aphids will stick to the trap, thus eliminating the aphids.

2. Spraying with Baijiu: Select Baijiu with an alcohol content of 45% or higher. No water is needed. Use a small sprayer to spray the Baijiu directly onto the flowers with aphids. Spray once in the morning and once in the evening for three consecutive days to basically eliminate the aphids.
3. Urine-washing mixture method: Take an appropriate amount of water, add a little laundry detergent and urea to make a urine-washing mixture. Spray it on the flowers immediately with a small sprayer after 5 pm every day for 2-3 consecutive days to effectively control aphids.
4. The method of using insects to control insects involves capturing ladybugs from farmland and placing them on flowers infested with aphids. The ladybugs will eat the aphids, thus controlling the aphid population.
5. Wood ash filtrate method: Take 1 kg of wood ash and add 5 kg of water, soak for 24 hours, and spray the filtrate to effectively control aphid damage.
6. Chives as a pest control method: Add a small amount of water to 1 kg of fresh chives, mash them, and extract the juice. Add 6 kg of water to every kilogram of the juice and spray. This method can also treat powdery mildew on flowers.
7. Garlic preparation method: Take 1 kg of fresh garlic, add an appropriate amount of water, mash it into garlic paste, extract the garlic juice, then add 1 kg of garlic juice to 10 kg of water and spray it. This method has a good control effect on aphids on flowers.
8. Castor leaf soaking method: Take 1 kg of fresh castor leaves and add 2 kg of water, soak for 24 hours, then boil for 10 minutes, take the filtrate, add 2 times the amount of water and spray. Spraying 2-3 times can effectively control aphid damage.

10. Willow Leaf Control Method: Take fresh willow leaves, add an appropriate amount of water, mash them thoroughly, add 3 times the amount of water and soak for 48 hours or boil for 30 minutes. After filtering, spray the solution. This method is effective in controlling aphids on flowers.
