A complete list of common flower pests and recommended pesticides and control techniques
Spider mites: The disease is serious in high temperature, so emergency early prevention is needed, spray 3-4 times in a row, with an interval of 7 days. They are mostly clustered on the leaf cover, the back of the leaves is purple-brown, the leaves are pale and lose their green color, and the leaves are curled.
When it usually occurs, spray: 20% Methacrylic Acid EC 1000 times; 73% Propargill EC 1000 times; 35% Nisolan EC 1500 times; 105 Imidacloprid Powder 1000-1500 times;
8% Acarb EC 2000 times is excellent; 40% Carbofuran EC 2500 times; 5% Nisolan EC 2000 times; 8% Aifodine EC 3000 times; 40% Trichloroethane EC 1000-1500 times.
Thrips: They mainly feed on flowers. The flowers turn from white to dark brown after being exposed to the sun, and the leaves turn into silvery white stripes. The peak of the disease is from June to September. You can spray: 50% phoxim EC 1500 times;
48% chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate 1300 times; 17.5% aphid-miticide powder 2000 times; 10% pyraclostrobin powder 2000 times; 1.8% afotodin emulsifiable concentrate 3000 times.
Whitefly: The following pesticides can be used for control: 10% cypermethrin EC 1000 times (special effect); 20% Kangfuduo 4000 times; 5% Uranus EC 3000 times (not obvious to eggs); 5% Kungfu EC 3000 times; 20% Mesoralea EC 2000 times; apply yellow board.
Aphids: Adults and nymphs gather in the tender shoots, sucking sap from leaves. The following pesticides can be used for control: 35% egg and worm emulsion 1000-1500 times; 5% Tianwangxing emulsion 3000 times;
50% aphidicide EC 1000-1500 times; 10% chlorpyrifos EC 3000 times; 5% kungfu EC 3000 times; 40% chlorpyrifos EC 1500 times; 40% omethoate 1000 times.
Scale insects: They excrete honeydew and cause sooty stains, which can be scrubbed with detergent water.
In the nymph stage, spray: 40% omethoate EC 1000 times + 0.5% washing powder; 45% Gongfu EC 4000-5000 times; 20% Methotrex EC 4000-5000 times; 10% Chlorpyrifos EC 1000-2000 times;
During the adult stage, watering: 40% oxydemeton-methyl EC 200 times, 100 ml/15-25 cm pot; 40% dimethoate EC 1000 times 1-2 times.
Leafminer: For prevention and control when the insect tunnels are very small, spraying between 8-12 hours in the morning is most effective (when adults emerge). Available methods: 1500 times of 25% Leafminer EC; 1500 times of 48% Chlorpyrifos EC; 3000 times of 1.8% Afotin EC.
Moth and butterfly larvae: The following pesticides can be used for prevention and control:
50% DDT 1000 times; 50% Fenpyrotone EC 1000 times; 50% Phoxim 1000 times.
